novelize
Make a novel
Novelize means to adapt something into novel form, typically a story that originated in another medium such as film, television, or theater.
Movie novelizations were especially common in the mid-to-late twentieth century, giving audiences a way to revisit stories before home video became widespread.
The term can also apply to dramatizing real events in narrative prose: The author chose to novelize the scandal rather than write a straightforward biography.
