novelizes

Adapts into book form

Novelizes means to adapt something into novel form, typically converting a film, television show, or other non-literary source into a prose narrative.

The practice was especially common in the twentieth century, when novelizations let fans revisit movies before home video: He novelizes blockbuster films for a living.

The British spelling is novelises.
