novelizing

Turning into prose

Novelizing is the act of adapting a story from another medium—typically a film, television show, or video game—into novel form.

The practice reverses the more common path of books becoming movies: She's novelizing the screenplay for the summer blockbuster.

The resulting book is a novelization.
