word wrap
Automatic line breaking
Word wrap is a text display feature that automatically moves words to the next line when they reach the edge of the screen or text area, preventing text from extending beyond visible boundaries.
Without word wrap, lines continue indefinitely to the right, requiring horizontal scrolling.
The term functions as both noun and verb: The document has word wrap enabled or The editor will word wrap long paragraphs automatically.
