print statement

Debug message command

A print statement is a programming instruction that outputs text or data to the screen.

In many languages, it's the first command beginners learn: print("Hello, world!").

The term persists even as syntax varies—Python uses print(), JavaScript uses console.log(), but programmers still call them print statements.

Useful for debugging and displaying results.
