enter key

Line break trigger

The enter key is a keyboard key that confirms input or creates a new line.

In text, pressing enter starts a new paragraph.

In forms and dialog boxes, it submits the current entry or selects the default option.

Also called the return key, from typewriter terminology where it returned the carriage to start a new line.
