stdout

Default output stream

Stdout is standard output, the default destination for a program's text output.

In Unix and similar systems, stdout typically sends data to the terminal screen unless redirected elsewhere: The script writes to stdout, Redirect stdout to a file.

Paired with stdin (input) and stderr (error messages), stdout is fundamental to command-line programming and piping data between processes.
