neutral buoyancy
Neither sinking nor floating
Neutral buoyancy is the state where an object neither sinks nor rises in a fluid, its weight exactly balanced by the upward force of displacement.
Scuba divers adjust their buoyancy compensators to achieve this equilibrium, allowing them to hover effortlessly at a given depth: Once I hit neutral buoyancy, I could just float there watching the reef.
