neofascist
Contemporary far-right extremist
A neofascist is someone who embraces ideologies descended from or inspired by mid-twentieth-century fascism, typically including extreme nationalism, authoritarianism, and hostility toward democratic institutions.
The term applies both to individuals and to movements or parties that revive fascist themes while often adapting them to contemporary contexts.
As an adjective, neofascist describes such beliefs, groups, or tactics: neofascist rallies, neofascist rhetoric.
The label is sometimes used loosely as a political epithet against opponents perceived as authoritarian.
