nanobot
Tiny programmable device
A nanobot is a hypothetical microscopic robot, typically imagined at the scale of nanometers—billionths of a meter.
In science fiction and futurism, nanobots circulate through the bloodstream to repair tissue, fight disease, or deliver drugs with precision: The nanobots targeted only the cancer cells.
Real nanotechnology hasn't yet produced machines matching these visions, but the term shapes how we imagine medicine's future.
