nanocomposite

Microscopic material blend

A nanocomposite is a material made by combining two or more substances where at least one component has dimensions measured in nanometers—typically particles, fibers, or layers less than 100 nanometers in size.

The nanoscale additions often dramatically improve strength, conductivity, or other properties compared to conventional composites: nanocomposite coatings, polymer nanocomposites reinforced with carbon nanotubes.
