mukbangs
Filmed binge meals
Mukbangs are videos or livestreams in which someone eats large quantities of food while talking to viewers.
The format originated in South Korea, where eating alone is common and viewers enjoy the virtual companionship.
Mukbang hosts often consume enormous portions—whole pizzas, piles of fried chicken, trays of seafood—while chatting, making exaggerated eating sounds, or responding to comments: I watched mukbangs while eating my sad desk lunch.
