more

Greater in quantity

More is an adjective and adverb used to form comparatives for words that can’t accomplish this with the ending -er; for example, more intelligent.

When used alone or followed by a noun, more usually conveys extra, additional, or to a great degree, and is roughly the opposite of less (give me some more, we need more information).

The noun mores, meaning moral customs, is construed as plural and does not have a singular form.
