fewer

A smaller count

Fewer is the comparative form of few, used with countable nouns: fewer people, fewer options, fewer than ten items.

Traditional usage guides insist on fewer for things you can count and less for quantities you can't, though in casual speech less often replaces fewer: ten items or less.

To have fewer of something is to have a smaller number of it.
