mopboard
Floor-meets-wall strip
A mopboard is the baseboard running along the bottom of an interior wall where it meets the floor.
The name reflects its position—low enough to be struck by a mop during cleaning.
The term is somewhat old-fashioned; baseboard is now more common in American usage.
