magnetizable
Susceptible to attraction
Magnetizable describes materials capable of becoming magnetic when exposed to a magnetic field.
Iron, nickel, and cobalt are magnetizable; copper and aluminum are not.
The term appears in physics and engineering contexts: The alloy proved highly magnetizable.
Some materials retain magnetism after the field is removed; others lose it immediately.
