low tide
Sea at minimum
Low tide is when the ocean has receded to its lowest point in the tidal cycle, exposing beach and seafloor normally underwater.
Tides shift roughly every six hours, so low tide occurs about twice daily.
The phrase extends to any low point or ebb: The team's morale was at low tide after the loss.
