loris
Toxic Asian primate
A loris is a small, slow-moving primate native to South and Southeast Asia, with large round eyes, no tail, and a notably deliberate gait.
Lorises are nocturnal and arboreal, gripping branches with their hands as they creep through forest canopy.
Some species produce a toxic secretion—unusual among mammals.
The slow loris blinked at us from the branches.
