lodges

Mountain resort shelters

Lodges serves as both noun and verb.

A lodge is a small house or cabin, often in a rustic or wilderness setting: a ski lodge, a hunting lodge.

It also names the meeting place of fraternal organizations like the Freemasons, or the local chapter itself.

As a verb, to lodge is to stay temporarily (We lodged at a bed and breakfast) or to become stuck (A bone lodged in his throat).

To lodge a complaint is to formally register it.
