hunting lodge
Wilderness game cabin
A hunting lodge is a rustic building in a remote or wooded area, used as a base for hunting expeditions.
Traditionally these were country retreats for wealthy sportsmen, often featuring trophy mounts and timber construction.
The term now also applies to hotels or resorts that evoke this aesthetic, whether or not hunting actually occurs: We stayed at a hunting lodge in the mountains.
