king cobra
Asia's longest venom
A king cobra is a large venomous snake native to South and Southeast Asia, the world's longest venomous snake—adults commonly reach twelve to fifteen feet.
Despite the name, king cobras are not true cobras but belong to their own genus.
They prey primarily on other snakes, including cobras, which explains the "king" designation.
The king cobra raised its hood in warning.
