Garuda

Sacred bird mount

Garuda is a legendary bird deity in Hindu mythology, the mount of the god Vishnu.

He appears as a powerful eagle-like figure, often with a human torso, and represents speed, martial prowess, and protection against serpents.

Garuda is also the national symbol of Indonesia and Thailand, and the name of Indonesia's flag carrier airline: We flew Garuda from Jakarta to Bali. (Lowercase garuda refers to such creatures generically.)
