kilotonne
Explosive yield measure
A kilotonne is a unit of mass equal to one thousand metric tonnes, or one million kilograms.
The term appears most often in measuring the explosive yield of nuclear weapons, where it represents the energy released by detonating one thousand tonnes of TNT: The bomb had a yield of fifteen kilotonnes.
