just society
Equitable social order
A just society is one organized around fairness, equal treatment, and protection of rights for all members.
The phrase appears in political philosophy and public discourse, often as an ideal against which actual societies are measured: We're still working toward a just society.
What constitutes justice—equality of opportunity, equality of outcome, individual liberty—remains contested.
