universal healthcare
Medicine for all
Universal healthcare is a system in which a government ensures all residents have access to medical services, typically funded through taxes rather than individual payments at point of care.
The term often appears in political debate: Every other developed nation has universal healthcare.
Also called universal health care or single-payer healthcare, though single-payer is technically one model among several.
