jumpmaster
Controls the drop
A jumpmaster is the person responsible for supervising parachute jumps from an aircraft.
In military operations, the jumpmaster inspects equipment, gives commands, and determines when paratroopers exit the plane.
Civilian skydiving uses the term similarly for the instructor who oversees student jumps: The jumpmaster checked my harness before giving the thumbs up.
