inside diameter
Hole's across measurement
Inside diameter is the width of a hollow object measured across its interior opening—the space through which things pass.
Pipes, tubes, rings, and cylinders all have inside diameters distinct from their outside diameters, which include wall thickness.
The measurement matters for fitting components together: The hose requires a fitting with a half-inch inside diameter.
Often abbreviated ID.
