hydraulic brake
Liquid-pressured stopping system
A hydraulic brake uses fluid pressure to transmit force from a pedal or lever to brake pads or shoes.
When the driver presses the brake pedal, fluid in a sealed system multiplies and transfers that force to slow or stop the wheels.
Nearly all modern cars and trucks use hydraulic brakes: The mechanic bled the hydraulic brakes to remove air bubbles.
