A hoarder is someone who accumulates and keeps things compulsively, often far beyond practical need.
The term commonly describes people with hoarding disorder, a psychological condition marked by extreme difficulty discarding possessions: The hoarder's house was stacked floor to ceiling with newspapers.
More casually, it describes anyone who stockpiles: Toilet paper hoarders cleared the shelves during the pandemic.
