hearing range
Sonic perception limits
Hearing range is the span of sound frequencies an organism can perceive.
Human hearing range typically extends from about 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, though this narrows with age.
Different species have vastly different ranges—dogs hear frequencies inaudible to humans, while elephants detect sounds too low for us.
That high-pitched whistle is outside my hearing range.
