headbangers
Heavy metal devotees
Headbangers are fans of heavy metal music, named for the vigorous head-shaking that accompanies the genre's aggressive rhythms: The front row was packed with headbangers.
The term can extend to the musicians themselves or anyone who enjoys loud, intense rock music.
A headbanger is also someone who bangs their head against things, whether from frustration or as a symptom of certain conditions.
