metalheads
Heavy music devotees
Metalheads are devoted fans of heavy metal music.
The term embraces the culture surrounding the genre—the fashion (black clothing, band t-shirts, long hair), the concerts, the encyclopedic knowledge of bands and subgenres.
Metalheads use the term proudly as an identity marker: The metalheads showed up early to get spots near the stage.
