fanatics
Obsessively dedicated people
Fanatics are people with extreme, uncritical devotion to a cause, belief, or activity.
The word implies zealotry that goes beyond reasonable enthusiasm—a fanatic won't hear opposing views: religious fanatics, political fanatics.
In casual use, fanatic softens to mean simply an enthusiast: a fitness fanatic, a football fanatic.
The clipped form fan comes from this word.
