hailers
Those summoning taxis
Hailers are devices or people that hail—that call out to get attention.
A loud-hailer or bull-hailer is a megaphone or similar amplifying device used to project the voice across distances: Coast Guard hailers warned the vessel to stop.
Hailers can also be people who hail taxis, greet passersby, or call out to others.
