guywires
Mast stability lines
Guywires are tensioned cables that anchor and stabilize tall structures—radio towers, utility poles, circus tents, ship masts.
They run diagonally from the structure to the ground or another anchor point, preventing sway or collapse.
Also spelled as two words: The crew tightened the guy wires before the storm.
