grid line
Graph paper stripe
A grid line is any of the horizontal or vertical lines that form a grid.
On maps, grid lines create a coordinate system for locating positions.
In spreadsheets, they separate rows and columns.
Graph paper consists entirely of grid lines.
The term applies wherever regularly spaced parallel lines intersect to divide a surface into cells: The grid lines on the chart made it easy to read the data points.
