grackles
Noisy parking lot birds
Grackles are medium-sized blackbirds common across North America, known for their iridescent plumage and harsh, creaking calls.
They gather in large, noisy flocks, often in parking lots and suburban areas, where their bold scavenging and cacophonous chatter make them hard to ignore: The grackles descended on the picnic table the moment we turned away.
