orioles
Weavers of nests
Orioles are songbirds known for bright orange and black plumage in males.
The name applies to two distinct bird families: New World orioles (related to blackbirds) and Old World orioles (unrelated but similarly colored).
Baltimore orioles are among the most recognized North American species.
An oriole built its hanging nest in the elm tree. (Capitalized Orioles refers to the Baltimore baseball team.)
