Goalless describes a game or match in which neither side has scored: The first half ended goalless.
Common in British sports coverage, especially football (soccer), where a goalless draw means the match finished 0-0.
The word can also mean lacking purpose or direction: He drifted through his twenties, goalless and uninspired.
