Changing one's sex
Gender-swapping is reimagining a character, role, or person as a different gender.
The term appears most often in fan fiction, cosplay, and media adaptations: a gender-swapped Sherlock Holmes, gender-swapping classic fairy tale characters.
In video games, players may gender-swap by choosing avatars of a different gender than their own.
