free verse
Poetry without meter
Free verse is poetry that doesn't follow regular meter or rhyme schemes.
Unlike sonnets or ballads, free verse has no fixed structure—line breaks and rhythm arise from the poet's choices rather than predetermined rules.
Most contemporary poetry is written in free verse: Her free verse captured the chaos of city life.
