foreordination

Fate decided beforehand

Foreordination is the doctrine that God has determined all events and outcomes in advance, including who will be saved.

The term belongs primarily to theological discussion of predestination and divine sovereignty: Calvin's doctrine of foreordination holds that salvation cannot be earned.

More loosely, foreordination suggests anything predetermined or fated: There was a sense of foreordination about their meeting.
