food sensitivity
Adverse ingredient response
Food sensitivity is a reaction to certain foods that causes discomfort but isn't as severe or immediate as a true allergy.
Someone with a sensitivity to dairy or gluten might experience bloating, headaches, or fatigue hours after eating.
The term is looser than allergy—often self-diagnosed and harder to test for medically: I've developed a sensitivity to eggs.
