floor drain
Low-point water exit
A floor drain is a plumbing fixture set into the floor to carry away water and prevent flooding.
Common in basements, garages, laundry rooms, and commercial kitchens, floor drains connect to the building's drainage system: Water from the burst pipe flowed toward the floor drain.
Most have a grate or cover and a trap to block sewer gases.
