storm sewer
Underground rainwater channel
A storm sewer is a drainage system designed to carry rainwater and surface runoff away from streets and buildings.
Unlike sanitary sewers, which handle household waste, storm sewers typically empty directly into rivers, lakes, or other waterways without treatment: The parking lot floods when the storm sewers back up.
