eaves trough
Rainwater collection channel
A channel attached along the edge of a roof to collect and direct rainwater away from the building.
The term is used primarily in Canada, where American English prefers gutter: The eaves trough is clogged with leaves again.
Also spelled as one word: eavestrough.
