Friday night
Start of weekend
Friday night marks the transition from work week to weekend, carrying associations of release, social activity, and relaxation.
It suggests going out, staying up late, or indulging in ways the work week doesn't permit: Friday night drinks, Friday night lights.
The phrase often implies festivity or abandon: It's Friday night—let's celebrate.
