feeble-mindedness

Lack of intellect

Feeble-mindedness is weakness or deficiency of mind.

Once a clinical term for intellectual disability, it now survives mainly as an insult suggesting stupidity or poor judgment: The feeble-mindedness of that decision staggers me.

The term is dated and offensive when applied to people with actual cognitive disabilities.
