fairy mound
Fae folk's home
A fairy mound is a small hill or earthwork in Celtic folklore believed to be a dwelling place of fairies or supernatural beings.
These are typically ancient burial mounds or natural hillocks: The locals avoided the fairy mound after dark.
In Irish and Scottish tradition, disturbing a fairy mound was thought to bring misfortune.
Also called a fairy hill or, in Irish, a *sídhe*.
