good people

Kind, honest souls

Good people is a phrase used to address or refer to a group in a warm, folksy manner, often with a touch of Southern American flavor or old-fashioned charm.

Politicians and preachers favor it when speaking to crowds: Good people of this fine city, I ask for your vote.

It can also simply describe those who are morally upright or kind: They're good people who would give you the shirt off their back.
